This community of priests and brothers arrived in
the U.S. in 1854. The community ministers in 18
dioceses and 8 archdioceses including Chicago,
Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta and
Washington, DC.

Under the patronage of St. Anthony of Padua, the
community fosters devotion to St. Anthony of Padua
through their direct mail program titled The
Companions of St. Anthony. The friars maintain a
shrine to St. Anthony in Ellicott City, MD that
houses a newly arrived relic of St. Anthony of
Padua given to them by their confreres in Italy.

The friars also serve in a multitude of ministries
including: parishes; counselors, administrators
and teachers in secondary schools, seminaries and
universities; campus ministry; a domestic mission
in Alabama and foreign missions in Kenya, Ghana,
Honduras, Philippines, and Japan.

In addition, there is a weekly religious/
devotional radio program presently in its 69th
year of production that is broadcast in 65
cities in the U.S. and Canada; and evangelization
and apologetic works in print, audio and video
media.
